Sacramento Children's Museum offers a variety of weekly and monthly programming designed to provide children and their families with diverse and engaging learning experiences. All our weekly programs are included with your admission to SCM.

Science Sundays

Sundays, 12:00-3:00pm

This program offers children the opportunity to explore concepts of science and beyond, as they get hands-on with new STEAM activities each week at our Science Sunday station. Members get exclusive access from 11:30AM-12pm.

Story Time

Tuesdays, 10AM

Our Story Time is an all ages celebration of community, stories, and songs. As we read new books each week we'll explore different ways to bring the topics to life at our Story Factory Stage

Theater Play

Tuesdays, 3PM

This class encourages children to get comfortable exploring the theater arts through a series of fun, engaging, and interactive theatrical games and activities!

Baby Bloomers Story Time

Wednesdays, 10AM

Baby Bloomers Story Time is an interactive story time specially tailored for the Museum's youngest visitors: infants and toddlers. Adults are encouraged to join their little ones as we read stories and sing songs.

Tinker Time

Wednesdays, 3PM

Make, build, invent, and solve engineering design challenges during this class every Wednesday at 3 p.m.

Cultural Connections

Thursdays, 10AM

Cultural Connections is a weekly class exploring cultures from all over the world!

Cultural Connections is sponsored by ECMC Foundation.

Yoga Play

Thursdays, 3PM

Yoga Play uses games, stories, and play to explore posture, balance, and breath. This class is designed for ages 4 and up, but all ages are welcome!

Yoga Play is sponsored by Western Health Advantage.

Music & Movement

Fridays, 10AM & 11AM

Music & Movement is the perfect opportunity for children of all ages to get up and DANCE to music with SCM staff every Friday morning!

Creative Art Class

Fridays, 3PM

Offered each Friday at 3 p.m., SCM staff presents a themed art class designed for ages 4 to 8, but all ages are welcome. All materials are provided.

Sound Explorers

Saturdays, 10AM

Explore instruments, sounds, and music-making during this weekly program on Saturday mornings at 10 a.m.


ExplorABILITY is a twice-monthly play-based program for children on the autism spectrum, ages two to ten.


We miss our ExplorABILITY families and until we are able to re-open, we invite you to Drive by and Say HI to Leo and friends at the Sacramento Children's Museum! New families are welcome to join too.

Leo will have a special gift bag for each registered child. We hope you enjoy the goodies at home until we can play together again!

ExplorABILITY is funded by Sacramento County TOT and the Sundt Foundation.

This program is offered on the first & third Sundays of the month, from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. August Sessions will be held on August 2nd and August 16th, 2020.

Discovery Play


Discovery Play is a FREE program for children with special needs and their families and friends. Children are welcome to explore the museum and experience all of our hands-on exhibits at their own pace.
